Norsound VN Slide Retro Fit Glass Door Edge Seal | Silicone | Transparent | 8mm & 10mm Glass

The VN Slide is a silicone glass door edge seal designed for retrofit installation to the perimeter edges of sliding acoustic glass doors to provide acoustic sealing and draught exclusion at the gap between the glass door leaf and the surrounding frame or door stop. The seal is bonded to the edge of the glass door leaf and the silicone profile compresses against the frame or door stop as the door slides to the closed position, forming a continuous seal around the door perimeter. The transparent silicone construction makes the VN Slide visually unobtrusive on glass doors where a visible aluminium housing would be aesthetically undesirable.

The VN Slide is manufactured from silicone, supplied in transparent finish. Bonded with adhesive (not supplied). Available in two glass thickness variants — 8mm and 10mm — and two standard lengths — 1083mm and 2250mm. Maximum gap coverage is 9mm. The transparent silicone profile is suited to glass doors where a low-visibility seal is required and the frame geometry accommodates a silicone edge seal.

Applications

• Sliding glass door perimeter sealing — transparent, low-visibility finish — bond to the edges of the sliding glass door leaf to create a continuous acoustic seal around the door perimeter. The transparent silicone construction is visually unobtrusive on glass doors, making the VN Slide the appropriate specification where a visible aluminium housing would be aesthetically undesirable or where the door design requires a minimal-profile seal. The silicone profile compresses against the frame or door stop as the door slides closed, sealing the gap between the glass edge and the surrounding structure.
• 8mm and 10mm glass sliding doors — available in variants sized for 8mm and 10mm glass thickness. Select the variant matching the glass thickness of the door leaf to ensure the housing seats correctly on the glass edge and the seal profile is correctly positioned relative to the frame on closing.
• Retrofit installation on existing sliding glass doorsets — the bonded fixing method allows the VN Slide to be installed on existing glass door leaves without drilling or screwing into the glass.

The 2250mm length covers taller door applications or provides sufficient material for multiple edges from a single length.
• 9mm maximum gap coverage. The VN Slide accommodates gaps up to 9mm between the glass edge and the frame or door stop, covering standard sliding glass door frame tolerances.
• Bonded fixing — no drilling into glass required.

Installation

Confirm the glass thickness is 8mm or 10mm and select the matching variant. Select the appropriate length for the door edge being sealed.

Clean the glass edge thoroughly — the surface must be dry, grease-free, and free from contamination before bonding. Apply a suitable adhesive (not supplied) to the silicone housing channel and press the VN Slide firmly onto the glass edge, ensuring the profile seats correctly and is correctly oriented to face the frame or door stop. Work along the full length of the edge in a continuous run. Allow the adhesive to cure fully before operating the door.

Slide the door to the closed position and check that the silicone profile compresses evenly against the frame or door stop along the full length of the seal. The profile should compress without the door being prevented from reaching the fully closed position. Adjust if required.
