Advanced Acoustics 15" x 15" F.A.T. Euphonic Acoustic Studio Foam Tile Pack
The Advanced Acoustics Euphonic F.A.T. Standard is a mixed-profile acoustic foam tile pack containing two complementary tile formats — a precision CNC-cut 40mm egg-crate profile and a 50mm plain-face tile with a 45-degree bevel cut on all four sides — each measuring 381mm × 381mm (15" × 15"). Each pack contains 12 tiles of each profile, 24 tiles in total, covering 3.48m² (37.5sqft) of wall or ceiling surface.
The combination of the two profiles delivers NRC 0.75 (Sound Absorption Class C), with strong performance from 500Hz upward: 0.80 at 500Hz, 0.91 at 1kHz, 1.05 at 2kHz, and 1.13 at 4kHz. Low-frequency absorption is 0.36 at 250Hz. The egg-crate profile — alternating peaks and valleys across the tile face — is the original acoustic foam format; paired with the flat-face bevel tile, the mixed pack produces a varied surface texture combining the classic studio foam aesthetic with a clean, architectural finish. Available in Mid Grey. Manufactured in the UK.
Applications
Professional recording studios and control rooms — mid and high-frequency treatment.
The Euphonic F.A.T. Standard at NRC 0.75 provides effective broadband absorption from 500Hz upward, reducing flutter echo and shortening reverberation time at the recording and monitoring position. The 0.80 at 500Hz delivers meaningful absorption in the lower-mid frequency range, addressing the lower frequencies of vocals and instruments. The 3.48m² coverage per pack suits the larger wall surfaces of professional studio and control room environments. Install on primary reflection points — side walls, rear wall, and ceiling. Use the Coverage Calculator to determine the number of packs required.
Home studios and recording spaces — large-format mixed-profile treatment.
The mixed egg-crate and bevelled Tegular profile produces a varied wall texture that suits home studio environments where a more dynamic visual result is preferred alongside effective acoustic treatment. The 15" tile format and 3.48m² coverage per pack reduce the number of installation pieces required for a given treatment area, making the pack efficient for treating larger wall surfaces.
Vocal booths and isolation rooms.
The Euphonic F.A.T. Standard provides strong absorption from 500Hz through to 4kHz, covering the fundamental frequencies and harmonics most critical for vocal recording. The 0.80 at 500Hz addresses the lower fundamental frequencies of many voices, producing thorough treatment of the vocal frequency range. The mixed profile suits vocal booth installations where a more refined visual finish is preferred.
Product Benefits
NRC 0.75 / Sound Absorption Class C — strong broadband absorption from 500Hz upward.
The mixed egg-crate and bevelled Tegular profile combination achieves NRC 0.75 (Class C), with strong absorption from 500Hz: 0.80 at 500Hz, 0.91 at 1000Hz, 1.05 at 2000Hz, and 1.13 at 4000Hz. Low-frequency absorption is 0.36 at 250Hz. The 0.80 at 500Hz delivers meaningful lower-mid frequency performance, making the Euphonic F.A.T. Standard effective across a broad frequency range.
Mixed profile — 40mm egg-crate and 50mm plain-face bevel in a single pack.
Each pack contains 12 tiles in the classic 40mm egg-crate profile and 12 tiles in a 50mm plain-face format with a 45-degree bevel cut on all four sides. The two profiles are designed to be installed together, alternating across the treatment area to create a varied surface texture. Both tile formats are CNC cut to consistent dimensions, ensuring accurate alignment across the mixed installation.
Large 15" format — 3.48m² coverage per pack.
Each pack contains 24 tiles (12 egg-crate, 12 bevel) at 381mm × 381mm, providing 3.48m² (37.5sqft) of coverage. The 15" format covers more wall area per tile than smaller formats, making it efficient for treating larger wall surfaces. Use the Coverage Calculator to determine the number of packs required for your room dimensions and type before ordering.
Specification and compliance.
30kg/m³ foam density. Crib 5 and Schedule 1, Part 1 of the Furnishings and Furniture (Fire)(Safety) Regulations 1988 (amended 1989). Tile size 381mm × 381mm (15" × 15"). 24 tiles per pack, 3.48m² (37.5sqft) coverage. Mid Grey. Manufactured in the UK and shipped uncompressed from stock.
Installation
Plan the tile layout before beginning installation. Sketch the intended pattern on paper and mark the layout on the wall or ceiling surface using pencil, masking tape, or a laser level. When installing the mixed profile, alternate egg-crate and bevel tiles across the surface for an even distribution of both profiles. Distribute tiles evenly across the treatment area for consistent absorption coverage across the room.
Apply Advanced Acoustics Contact Adhesive to both the back of the tile and the mounting surface. Apply a band of adhesive around the perimeter of the tile and 50–75% coverage of the remaining surface area; repeat the equivalent coverage on the wall. Allow the adhesive to become touch-dry before bringing the surfaces together — contact adhesive bonds on contact, so position the tile carefully before pressing it to the wall. Avoid overspray onto the tile face or surrounding wall surface; use masking tape on the wall to protect adjacent areas. If adhesive webbing contacts the tile face, allow it to dry fully before attempting to remove it — in most cases it can be peeled away cleanly once dry. The adhesive is solvent-based. Ensure adequate ventilation throughout the installation — keep doors and windows open.
For a temporary or demountable installation, mount tiles onto 6mm MDF or plywood sheet to create panels, then hang the panels using D-rings and picture hooks. For ceiling-mounted panels, use four mirror plates per panel. This approach allows panels to be removed and repositioned without damage to the wall or ceiling surface.
