12" Pyramid Acoustic Foam Tile Pack
The Advanced Acoustics Pyramid 12" is a 40mm open-cell polyurethane acoustic foam tile in a precision CNC-cut pyramid profile, measuring 305 × 305mm. The tile achieves NRC 0.55, providing effective absorption across the mid and high frequency range — the frequencies most responsible for flutter echo and reverberation in recording and broadcast environments. Each pack contains 24 tiles, covering 2.23m² (24ft²) of wall or ceiling surface.
The pyramid is the most widely recognised profile in acoustic foam treatment, and the most demanding to manufacture consistently — each tile requires precise CNC cutting to achieve sharp, uniform tip geometry across all 24 pyramids per tile. The result is a higher cost per pack than simpler profiles at the same thickness, but a cleaner, more defined finish. Where higher performance is required, the 75mm Pyramid PRO (NRC 0.90) is the appropriate upgrade within the pyramid range. Available in Mid Grey and Dark Grey. Manufactured in the UK.

Podcast studios and broadcast environments — high-frequency echo control.
Podcast and broadcast studios require effective control of high-frequency reflections and flutter echo to produce clean, clear microphone recordings without the room sound that characterises untreated spaces. The 40mm Pyramid 12" provides effective absorption from 1kHz upward, targeting the frequency range most responsible for the harsh, reflective quality of untreated rooms. Vocal booths and isolation rooms.
Vocal booths require effective high-frequency absorption to prevent the tight, boxy sound caused by excessive reflections in a small enclosed space. The Pyramid 12" provides effective absorption at the frequencies most critical for vocal recording — 1kHz and above — reducing the coloration introduced by room reflections and producing a cleaner vocal capture. The 40mm profile is well suited to vocal booths where wall space is limited and a thinner tile is preferred to maximise usable room volume.
Home studios and recording spaces — entry-level acoustic treatment.
For home studios where the primary acoustic problem is high-frequency flutter echo and reverberation rather than low-frequency room modes, the Pyramid 12" provides effective entry-level treatment. The pyramid profile is the classic choice for home studio acoustic treatment — widely used, immediately recognisable, and effective at controlling the high-frequency reflections that are the most audible acoustic problem in untreated rooms. Where low-frequency reverberation is also a problem, the 75mm Pyramid PRO provides significantly better performance across a broader frequency range.
Rehearsal rooms and live rooms — high-frequency control.
Rehearsal rooms benefit from controlled high-frequency reverberation to reduce the build-up of reflected sound energy that makes it difficult for musicians to hear each other clearly. The Pyramid 12" provides effective absorption at the higher frequencies most responsible for this build-up. The large coverage per pack makes it efficient to treat the wall areas of a rehearsal room at a lower cost per m² than thicker profiles.
Mixing and mastering rooms — supplementary high-frequency treatment.
In mixing and mastering environments where low-frequency room treatment is already addressed by bass traps, the Pyramid 12" can be used to supplement high-frequency absorption on wall and ceiling surfaces. The absorption above 1kHz reduces the influence of high-frequency reflections on the monitoring position without the additional cost of thicker tiles where low-frequency absorption is not the primary requirement.

Each tile requires precise CNC cutting to achieve sharp, uniform tip geometry across every pyramid — any variation in cut depth or angle produces visible inconsistencies across the installed surface. The Advanced Acoustics Pyramid 12" is cut to consistent dimensions throughout the pack, ensuring accurate alignment and a clean, defined finish across the wall or ceiling surface.
High-density polyurethane foam — 30kg/m³, fire rated.
The foam core is manufactured at 30kg/m³ density, providing greater structural integrity and longer service life than lower-density acoustic foam. Higher density foam maintains its shape and acoustic performance over time without the compression and degradation that affects lower-density products. The foam meets Crib 5 and Schedule 1, Part 1 of the Furnishings and Furniture (Fire)(Safety) Regulations 1988 (amended 1989).

All Pyramid 12" packs are manufactured in the Advanced Acoustics UK facility and shipped uncompressed, ensuring tiles arrive in full-dimension condition ready for installation.
Installation
Plan the tile layout before beginning installation. Sketch the intended pattern on paper and mark the layout on the wall or ceiling surface using pencil, masking tape, or a laser level. Distribute tiles evenly across the treatment area rather than concentrating them in a single large cluster; even distribution provides more consistent absorption coverage across the room.
Apply Advanced Acoustics Contact Adhesive to both the back of the tile and the mounting surface. Apply a band of adhesive around the perimeter of the tile and 50–75% coverage of the remaining surface area; repeat the equivalent coverage on the wall. Allow the adhesive to become touch-dry before bringing the surfaces together — contact adhesive bonds on contact, so position the tile carefully before pressing it to the wall. Avoid overspray onto the tile face or surrounding wall surface; use masking tape on the wall to protect adjacent areas. If adhesive webbing contacts the tile face, allow it to dry fully before attempting to remove it — in most cases it can be peeled away cleanly once dry. The adhesive is solvent-based. Ensure adequate ventilation throughout the installation — keep doors and windows open.
For a temporary or demountable installation, mount tiles onto 6mm MDF or plywood sheet to create panels, then hang the panels using D-rings and picture hooks. For ceiling-mounted panels, use four mirror plates per panel. This approach allows panels to be removed and repositioned without damage to the wall or ceiling surface.
