12" Pyramid Pro Acoustic Foam Tile Pack
The Advanced Acoustics Pyramid PRO 12" is a 75mm open-cell polyurethane acoustic foam tile in a precision CNC-cut pyramid profile, measuring 305 × 305mm. The tile achieves NRC 0.90, providing high-performance broadband absorption across the mid and high frequency range with notably stronger low-mid frequency absorption than thinner profiles — a direct result of the 75mm depth. Each pack contains 24 tiles, covering 2.23m² (24ft²) of wall or ceiling surface.
The Pyramid PRO is the deepest tile in the Advanced Acoustics 12" pyramid range and the highest-performing, suited to recording environments where comprehensive acoustic treatment across a broader frequency range is the requirement. Available in Mid Grey and Dark Grey. Manufactured in the UK.
Applications
Recording studios and control rooms — broadband treatment.
Flutter echo and reverberation across the mid and high frequency range are the primary acoustic problems in untreated recording and control room environments. The 75mm Pyramid PRO at NRC 0.90 provides high-performance broadband absorption, reducing flutter echo and shortening reverberation time across a wider frequency range than thinner 40mm profiles. The additional depth delivers meaningfully stronger absorption in the lower-mid frequency range, addressing the muddiness and imbalance that standard entry-level tiles leave uncorrected. Install on the primary reflection points — side walls, rear wall, and ceiling — to achieve even absorption coverage throughout the room. Use the Coverage Calculator tab to determine the number of packs required.
Vocal booths and isolation rooms — maximum absorption.
Vocal booths require effective absorption across the full vocal frequency range to prevent the tight, coloured sound produced by reflections in a small enclosed space. The 75mm Pyramid PRO provides high-performance absorption at the frequencies most critical for vocal recording — from the lower-mid fundamentals through to the upper harmonics — reducing the coloration introduced by room reflections and producing a cleaner, drier vocal capture. Where complete acoustic control in a small space is the goal, the additional depth of the Pyramid PRO delivers a more thorough result than thinner profiles.
Home studios and recording spaces — professional-level treatment.
For home studios where the entry-level Wedge or Sawtooth 12" has proved insufficient — particularly in rooms with low-frequency build-up or persistent mid-range reverberation — the Pyramid PRO provides a significant step up in absorption depth and performance. The NRC 0.90 rating and 75mm depth address the acoustic problems that 40mm tiles cannot fully resolve, delivering a more controlled listening and recording environment without the need for structural modification.
Podcast studios and broadcast environments — clean, controlled recordings.
Podcast and broadcast studios benefit from thorough acoustic treatment to produce clear, professional-sounding recordings. The Pyramid PRO's NRC 0.90 provides strong absorption across the mid and high frequency range, controlling the room reflections that introduce unwanted colour and ambience into microphone recordings. The large 2.23m² coverage per pack makes it practical to treat significant wall areas efficiently.
Rehearsal rooms and live rooms — controlled acoustic environment.
Rehearsal rooms with persistent low-mid frequency build-up benefit from the additional absorption depth of the Pyramid PRO. The 75mm profile addresses the lower-mid frequency energy that standard 40mm tiles absorb less effectively, reducing the muddiness that makes it difficult for musicians to hear each other clearly at lower frequencies. The large coverage per pack suits the larger wall areas typical of rehearsal and live room environments.
Mixing and mastering rooms — comprehensive broadband treatment.
In dedicated mixing and mastering environments, accurate monitoring depends on thorough control of room reflections across the full frequency range. The Pyramid PRO at NRC 0.90 provides high-performance broadband absorption on wall and ceiling surfaces, reducing the influence of reflections on the monitoring position and improving the accuracy of the listening environment for critical mixing decisions.
Product Benefits
NRC 0.90 — high-performance broadband absorption.
The 75mm pyramid foam core achieves NRC 0.90, providing high-performance absorption across the mid and high frequency range. The 75mm depth delivers meaningfully stronger low-mid frequency absorption than 40mm or 55mm profiles, making the Pyramid PRO effective across a broader frequency range than thinner tiles in the 12" range. For rooms where the entry-level Wedge 12" (NRC 0.60) has proved insufficient, the Pyramid PRO provides a substantial performance increase without requiring structural acoustic treatment.
Pyramid PRO profile — CNC cut for consistent dimensions.
Each tile is cut using CNC machinery to ensure consistent dimensions and sharp tip geometry across every tile in the pack. The pyramid profile provides effective absorption across the full tile face and can be installed in uniform or alternating orientations. Consistent tile dimensions ensure accurate alignment without adjustment during installation.
75mm depth — maximum absorption in the standard 12" pyramid range.
At 75mm (3"), the Pyramid PRO is the deepest tile in the Advanced Acoustics 12" pyramid range. The additional depth relative to thinner profiles is the primary reason for the higher NRC and the stronger low-mid frequency performance — foam absorption effectiveness increases with depth, particularly at lower frequencies where thinner tiles begin to lose performance.
High-density polyurethane foam — 30kg/m³, fire rated.
The foam core is manufactured at 30kg/m³ density, providing greater structural integrity and longer service life than lower-density acoustic foam. Higher density foam maintains its shape and acoustic performance over time without the compression and degradation that affects lower-density products. The foam meets Crib 5 and Schedule 1, Part 1 of the Furnishings and Furniture (Fire)(Safety) Regulations 1988 (amended 1989).
24 tiles per pack — 2.23m² coverage.
Each pack contains 24 tiles at 305 × 305mm, providing 2.23m² (24ft²) of coverage. Use the Coverage Calculator tab to determine the number of packs required for your room dimensions and room type before ordering.
Two colourways — Mid Grey and Dark Grey.
Available in Mid Grey and Dark Grey to suit different studio interior schemes. Both colourways are available from stock and shipped uncompressed to maintain tile integrity in transit.
Made in the UK — shipped uncompressed.
All Pyramid PRO 12" packs are manufactured in the Advanced Acoustics UK facility and shipped uncompressed, ensuring tiles arrive in full-dimension condition ready for installation.
What Our Customers Say
"I just wanted to say thank you so much for such an incredible product that has really improved my sound in my little podcast/gaming room. I was a little hesitant beforehand as I didn't know if this was going to make any difference or not but I am so glad I chose your company. You were the only company I could find that actually stock 3 inch tiles and the dark grey pyramid looks phenomenal. I went with the 24 box pro pyramid 3 inch tile and couldn't be happier!" — James
Installation
Plan the tile layout before beginning installation. Sketch the intended pattern on paper and mark the layout on the wall or ceiling surface using pencil, masking tape, or a laser level. Distribute tiles evenly across the treatment area rather than concentrating them in a single large cluster; even distribution provides more consistent absorption coverage across the room.
Apply Advanced Acoustics Contact Adhesive to both the back of the tile and the mounting surface. Apply a band of adhesive around the perimeter of the tile and 50–75% coverage of the remaining surface area; repeat the equivalent coverage on the wall. Allow the adhesive to become touch-dry before bringing the surfaces together — contact adhesive bonds on contact, so position the tile carefully before pressing it to the wall. Avoid overspray onto the tile face or surrounding wall surface; use masking tape on the wall to protect adjacent areas. If adhesive webbing contacts the tile face, allow it to dry fully before attempting to remove it — in most cases it can be peeled away cleanly once dry. The adhesive is solvent-based. Ensure adequate ventilation throughout the installation — keep doors and windows open.
For a temporary or demountable installation, mount tiles onto 6mm MDF or plywood sheet to create panels, then hang the panels using D-rings and picture hooks. For ceiling-mounted panels, use four mirror plates per panel. This approach allows panels to be removed and repositioned without damage to the wall or ceiling surface.
