Advanced Acoustics Column4 1ft x 4ft Acoustic Foam Treatment Panel - Pack of 8

The Advanced Acoustics Column4 Pack of 8 contains 8 semi-circular acoustic foam panels, each measuring 305mm × 1220mm × 150mm (1ft × 4ft × 6"), covering a total wall footprint of 2.97m² (32sqft). The semi-circular cross-section gives each panel a curved surface area of 0.58m² — approximately 57% greater than the flat footprint — for a total curved surface area of 4.65m² across all 8 panels.

At 150mm, the Column4 is the deepest foam panel in the Advanced Acoustics range. The pack of 8 provides sufficient panels to treat a full wall section or to distribute deep low-frequency treatment across multiple surfaces in a single room. Available in Mid Grey and Dark Grey. Manufactured in the UK.

Applications

Recording studios and home studios — full-wall deep treatment.
Eight Column4 panels provide 2.97m² of wall footprint at 150mm depth — sufficient to treat a complete wall surface or the primary reflection points, rear wall, and ceiling of a typical studio environment. The 4ft panel length reduces the number of installation pieces required relative to shorter formats, making the pack of 8 practical for treating large wall areas with deep broadband absorption in a single installation.

Statement acoustic wall installations.
Eight 4ft panels provide enough coverage for a full floor-to-ceiling or near-full-height column wall installation. The repeating semi-circular profile creates a structured, three-dimensional wall surface that functions as both deep acoustic treatment and architectural interior feature. Panels can be installed bare or fabric-wrapped in any open-weave material across the full pack for a consistent finished appearance.

Distributed deep treatment across multiple surfaces.
The pack of 8 provides sufficient coverage to distribute Column4 panels across multiple walls and ceiling surfaces simultaneously, achieving even deep low-frequency absorption throughout the room rather than concentrating treatment on a single surface. Distributed placement at primary reflection points, corners, and wall-ceiling junctions produces more consistent acoustic results across the listening and recording position.

Product Benefits

150mm depth — 2.97m² of deep low-frequency absorption.
Eight panels at 305mm × 1220mm provide 2.97m² (32sqft) of wall footprint coverage at 150mm depth. The 150mm foam depth addresses low-frequency absorption across a meaningful treatment area — the level of deep coverage needed to have a measurable effect on low-frequency reverberation in a typical home studio or recording space.

Semi-circular profile — increased surface area, distinctive visual result.
Each panel contributes 0.58m² of curved surface from a 0.37m² footprint; across 8 panels, total curved surface area is 4.65m² from 2.97m² of wall space. The repeating column form creates a structured three-dimensional wall installation that is visually distinctive from flat panel formats and can be fabric-wrapped for a finished result.

Specification and compliance.
30kg/m³ foam density. Crib 5 and Schedule 1, Part 1 of the Furnishings and Furniture (Fire)(Safety) Regulations 1988 (amended 1989). Panel size 305mm × 1220mm × 150mm (1ft × 4ft × 6"). 8 panels per pack, 2.97m² (32sqft) total footprint. Mid Grey and Dark Grey. Manufactured in the UK and shipped uncompressed from stock.

Installation

Plan the panel layout before beginning installation. Mark panel positions on the wall surface using pencil or masking tape to ensure even spacing and alignment before applying adhesive.

Apply Advanced Acoustics High Strength Contact Adhesive to the flat rear face of each panel and the corresponding wall surface. Apply a band of adhesive around the perimeter of the flat face and 50–75% coverage of the remaining surface area; repeat on the wall. Allow to become touch-dry before bringing surfaces together — contact adhesive bonds on contact, so position each panel carefully before pressing it to the wall. The adhesive is solvent-based; ensure adequate ventilation throughout installation.

For a demountable installation, fix D-rings to the flat rear face of each panel and hang from picture hooks. This allows panels to be removed and repositioned without damage to the wall surface.

Installing our acoustic foam panels is very simple. The first step to take is to work out your preferred layout of acoustic panels. Do a sketch on paper first to make sure that the layout looks right and you have enough acoustic foam and space for your planned design.

Once the acoustic panels are mounted to the wall or ceiling they are hard to remove so it is important to get the layout right before you begin. Once you have a sketch of the layout you plan you can then mark up the wall with the layout. You can either use pencil, masking tape or lasers to layout the design on the wall or ceiling.

When mounting the acoustic panels to the wall apply Advanced Acoustics Contact Adhesive to both the back of the panel and the mounting surface. There is no need to heavily cover the acoustic foam or wall with adhesive, a band of adhesive around the perimeter of the tile along with 50% - 75% coverage of the rest of the acoustic panel will be fine. Use the same equivalent amount on the wall. Avoid overspray on the tile and the wall so that adhesive can’t be seen when the panels are in place. Masking Tape on the wall will help with this. If you do get webbing overspray on the foam panel, don’t touch it, allow it to dry, in most cases you will be able to peel the adhesive off.

The adhesive we supply is solvent based so we recommend that you keep all doors of the room and any windows open whilst completing the installation.

If you prefer to have a more temporary installation of acoustic panels you can mount the acoustic foam onto 6mm MDF or ply. These panels can then be hung on the wall using a D-Ring and picture hook for a damage free installation. If fitting them to a ceiling then 4 mirror plates would be required.
