Norsound NOR695 Aluminium Door Threshold | Transition Profile | T6060 Aluminium | 40 × 10mm

The NOR695 is an aluminium transition threshold from the Norsound 600 range, designed for use at doorways where there is a level difference between the floor finishes on either side of the door, or where the transition is between a hard floor surface and carpet. Unlike the flat plate thresholds in the 600 range (NOR620, NOR625, NOR630), the NOR695 has a taller profile at 40mm wide × 10mm high, providing the ramp geometry needed to bridge a height difference at the sill without creating an abrupt step. It also provides a level engagement surface for Norsound door bottom seals, combining the transition function with the seal platform function in a single threshold profile.

The NOR695 is manufactured from T6060 grade aluminium and anodised to AA10 standard in satin silver. Available in standard lengths of 1000mm and 2100mm. Screw-fixed to the floor or sill substrate. Complies with Approved Document M.

Applications

• Floor level transitions at door sills — install where there is a height difference between the floor finishes on either side of the door, or where the transition is between a hard floor and carpet. The 10mm profile height accommodates a greater level difference than the flat plate thresholds, providing a ramped transition that bridges the height change without creating an abrupt step or trip hazard at the doorway.
• Hard floor to carpet transitions — the NOR695 profile is suited to the transition between a hard floor finish (tile, timber, or vinyl) and carpet on the opposite side of the door, where the carpet thickness creates a level difference at the sill. The profile bridges the height difference and provides a clean, finished edge to the carpet at the doorway.
• Engagement surface for Norsound door bottom seals at uneven sills — where the sill condition involves a level difference that a flat plate threshold cannot bridge, the NOR695 provides a level engagement surface for the door bottom seal on the higher side while accommodating the transition to the lower floor finish on the other side.

Installation

Measure the door opening width and the height difference between floor finishes on either side of the door. Confirm the NOR695 profile height is appropriate for the level difference present.

Position the NOR695 across the door sill with the higher face of the profile on the side of the higher floor finish. Align centrally with the door leaf. Mark and drill fixing holes. Countersink fixings flush with the threshold surface. Check that the transition between the threshold and both floor finishes is smooth and that no abrupt edge is exposed.

If installing with a door bottom seal, verify that the seal engages the threshold surface consistently on closing.
