Cloud9 60cm Ceiling Mounted Acoustic Panel | 600mm diameter | NRC 0.75 | Class C

The Advanced Acoustics Cloud9 60cm Ceiling Mounted Acoustic Panel is a circular acoustic panel from the Advanced Acoustics Designer Range, designed to be fixed directly to the ceiling surface. The circular format provides a soft, organic contrast to the flat ceiling plane and is suited to accent placements, smaller ceiling areas, and mixed-size cluster arrangements combining the 60cm, 80cm, and 100cm Cloud9 formats. The panel consists of a 25mm open-cell acoustic foam core mounted on a rigid 6mm MDF backing board, wrapped in a 100% recycled open-weave polyester cloth available in 31 colours, with mirror plate fixings for direct ceiling attachment.

The Cloud9 60cm has a diameter of 600mm, providing 0.28m² of absorption per panel. Ceiling-mounted panels treat reverberation from above, complementing wall-mounted panels and providing absorption coverage across the ceiling plane. The 25mm foam core achieves NRC 0.75 (Sound Absorption Class C), providing effective absorption of mid and high frequencies appropriate for controlling speech-frequency reverberation in office and commercial environments.

Applications

  • Ceiling treatment with designer circular format. The Cloud9 60cm ceiling panel provides acoustic absorption at the ceiling plane with a circular profile that contrasts with the rectilinear geometry of the ceiling surface. The circular format is suited to hospitality, office, and educational environments where a designed ceiling installation is preferred over a standard rectangular panel grid.
  • Mixed-size Cloud9 ceiling cluster arrangements. The 60cm panel is designed to be combined with the 80cm and 100cm Cloud9 ceiling formats in composed cluster arrangements across the ceiling surface. The smaller diameter fills the spaces between larger panels in organic, asymmetric compositions, creating a varied and visually dynamic ceiling installation.
  • Accent placements in smaller ceiling areas. The compact 600mm diameter makes the 60cm Cloud9 suited to smaller ceiling sections, alcoves, and areas between ceiling fixtures, light fittings, and sprinkler heads where a larger circular format would not fit.
  • Open-plan offices — reverberation and echo control. Install on the ceiling to reduce reverberation time and improve speech intelligibility. The circular format adds visual interest to the acoustic installation, integrating naturally into contemporary office interiors.
  • Hospitality and commercial interiors. The Cloud9's circular format and soft profile make it suited to hospitality environments — restaurants, bars, and hotel lobbies — where acoustic ceiling treatment is required alongside a designed interior finish.

Product Benefits

  • NRC 0.75 — effective mid and high frequency absorption. The 25mm foam core achieves NRC 0.75 (Sound Absorption Class C), with strong absorption from 500Hz upward: 0.65 at 500Hz, 0.94 at 1000Hz, 1.13 at 2000Hz, and 0.99 at 4000Hz. Effective for controlling speech-frequency reverberation from the ceiling plane. Low-frequency absorption is more limited (0.30 at 250Hz).
  • Class '0' fire-rated construction — compliant for commercial use. The acoustic foam core is Class '0' rated to BS 476 Parts 6 and 7, and C s1, d0 to EN 13501-1, meeting commercial fire safety requirements for ceiling-mounted acoustic treatment in offices, schools, and public buildings.
  • 100% recycled open-weave polyester cloth — 31 colour options. The open-weave polyester cloth is produced from 100% recycled fibre, maintaining full acoustic transparency while providing a durable surface finish. Available in 31 colours — download the swatch card for the full range.
  • Mirror plate ceiling fixing — supplied with hardware. Supplied with mirror plate fixing hardware for direct ceiling attachment. Mirror plate fixing provides a flush, secure ceiling mount suitable for permanent installations on solid ceiling structure or appropriate noggins.
  • 60cm diameter — most compact Cloud9 ceiling format. At 600mm diameter and 0.28m² per panel, the 60cm is the smallest and most versatile format in the Cloud9 ceiling range, suited to accent placements and as a fill panel in mixed-size cluster arrangements with the 80cm and 100cm ceiling formats.
  • Handmade in the UK — consistent quality across every panel. All Designer Range panels are handmade in the Advanced Acoustics UK facility using consistent materials and construction methods, ensuring uniform acoustic performance and finish quality across every panel in an installation.

Please note: All Designer Range panels are made to order with a 2–3 week lead time.

Installation

Mark the fixing position on the ceiling using the panel diameter as a guide. Ensure fixing positions are located on solid ceiling structure or appropriate noggins — do not fix into plasterboard alone without appropriate cavity fixings. Check for concealed services (electrical cables, pipework) before drilling into the ceiling.

For mirror plate fixing: screw the mirror plate to the ceiling at the marked position using appropriate fixings for the ceiling construction, and attach the panel to the mirror plate. Check that the panel sits flush and level before finalising the fixing position.

For cluster arrangements combining multiple Cloud9 ceiling sizes, plan the composition on paper or digitally before marking fixing positions on the ceiling. Use a tape measure to set out the centre points of each panel accurately before drilling.

How Many Panels Do You Need?

Our Office Acoustic Panels are very easy to install. They are supplied with mirror plates in order for you to mount the acoustic panels to the wall or ceiling. The only thing that isn’t supplied are the screws and plugs. The correct fixing method depends on whether you are fixing to plasterboard, brick or concrete. Check with an experienced tradesman if you aren’t sure what fixing method is best. The acoustic panels are relatively light so you will only need to use 30mm long screws to mount the panels with.

Sometimes the panels are shipped with the mirror plates facing inwards to protect them during shipping. Before attempting to mount the panels you may need to turn the plates around so that the mounting hole is exposed.

Offer up the panel in the location where you wish to fit it. Mark the wall with a pencil where the fixings need to go. Drill the holes with a suitable drill bit and insert the plugs. Offer up the panel again and fix into place with your choice of screws. Repeat until all panels are fitted.

If the panels are intended to be butted up to each other you may need to relocate the mirror plates so that they don’t foul on each other. If you are fitting the panels in rows install the bottom row of panels first and sit the next row of panels on top. In this case slide the next panel in place. Any mirror plates that will be covered by the row below can just sit between the panel and the mounting surface. Use all the remaining mirror plates that you have access to to mount the panel in place.
