Anti-Vibration Isolation Pad | 600 × 600mm | 22mm
The Anti-Vibration Isolation Pad is a two-layer composite product designed to isolate vibration from domestic appliances, stage equipment, and light machinery at floor level. It consists of a 10mm recycled rubber crumb layer bonded to a 12mm Moisture Resistant MDF board, supplied as a single ready-to-install unit.
The rubber layer absorbs point-load vibration at source. The bonded MDF board distributes the appliance load evenly across the rubber surface, preventing uneven compression that would reduce isolation effectiveness and create resonant contact points with the floor. Supplying both layers as a factory-bonded composite eliminates the need to source and align separate materials on site. Each pad covers 0.36m² and is rated for appliances up to 100kg.

Applications
- Washing machines and tumble dryers — place rubber-side down beneath the appliance to isolate spin cycle vibration from the floor structure. Effective for both timber and concrete subfloors where vibration transmission to adjacent rooms or floors below is a concern.
- Gym and fitness equipment — suitable for treadmills, cross trainers, and similar equipment where motor and impact vibration transfers through the floor. Multiple pads can be butted together to create a larger platform to suit the equipment footprint — tape the joins on the MDF surface with black cloth tape to hold the configuration in place.
- American-style fridge freezers and domestic HVAC — isolates compressor vibration from the floor, reducing low-frequency hum transmitted through the structure to adjacent spaces.
- PA cabinets, amplifiers, and stage monitors — gig and venue use. Place the pad rubber-side down beneath PA speaker cabinets, amplifier heads, and stage monitors to isolate vibration and impact energy from the stage or venue floor. The rigid MDF surface provides a stable, level platform for cabinet placement, and the rubber crumb layer absorbs the low-frequency vibration produced by powered cabinets and bass amplifiers before it enters the stage structure. Multiple pads can be butted together for wider cabinet footprints — tape the joins on the MDF surface with black cloth tape to hold the configuration in place. Each pad is rated to 100kg, suitable for most stage and venue cabinets within this load limit.
- Small compressors and pumps — suitable for light machinery and domestic plant where vibration isolation is required without a full isolation platform. For heavier-duty or custom-dimension requirements, contact us for a bespoke specification.
Product Benefits
- Factory-bonded composite — no additional materials required. The rubber crumb layer and MDF board are bonded at manufacture and supplied as a single unit. No separate board, adhesive, or fixings are needed on site.
- 10mm recycled rubber crumb layer. UK-sourced, post-industrial recycled rubber crumb compound at 750kg/m3 — the same specification used across the Advanced Acoustics soundproofing range. Independently tested for vibration isolation performance.
- 12mm Moisture Resistant MDF board. The rigid board layer distributes appliance load evenly across the rubber surface, maintaining consistent compression and isolation performance across the full pad area. The MDF board can be painted to match the appliance if desired.
- Rated to 100kg. Suitable for most domestic washing machines, tumble dryers, and fitness equipment within this load limit.
- 600 × 600mm — 22mm total thickness. Compact footprint suitable for most domestic appliances. Pads can be butted together for larger equipment. Custom dimensions and a 20mm heavy-duty option for commercial and industrial applications are available on request.
Installation
Place the pad rubber-side down on the floor. Position the appliance centrally on the MDF surface. No adhesive, fixings, or additional materials are required. For larger equipment footprints, butt multiple pads together and tape the joins on the MDF surface with black cloth tape to hold the configuration in place before positioning the appliance.
Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this suitable for a washing machine on a timber floor?
Yes — the pad is effective on both timber and concrete subfloors. Timber floors are typically more susceptible to vibration transmission than concrete, as the joist structure carries vibration efficiently through the building fabric. The rubber crumb layer absorbs spin cycle impact before it reaches the floor surface, reducing the vibration that would otherwise travel through the joists to rooms below or adjacent. For severe cases on timber floors where the pad alone is insufficient, Green Glue Noiseproofing Joist Tape applied to the joists beneath the floor provides an additional decoupling layer within the floor structure.
My appliance is heavier than 100kg — can I still use this pad?
The standard pad is rated to 100kg. For appliances above this limit — commercial washing machines, heavy compressors, or industrial equipment — contact us for a bespoke specification. A 20mm heavy-duty version for commercial and industrial applications is available on request, and custom dimensions can also be quoted.
How many pads do I need for my appliance?
One 600 × 600mm pad is sufficient for most standard domestic appliances — washing machines, tumble dryers, and American-style fridge freezers typically have a footprint that falls within a single pad. For gym equipment, PA cabinets, or appliances with a wider footprint, butt additional pads together and tape the joins on the MDF surface with black cloth tape to hold the configuration in place.
The MDF board — is it genuinely moisture resistant in a utility room or kitchen?
The board is Moisture Resistant MDF, which provides significantly better resistance to humidity and incidental water exposure than standard MDF. It is suitable for use in utility rooms and kitchens where the ambient environment is damp. It is not waterproof — sustained direct water contact will cause deterioration over time. If the pad will be in a position where it is regularly exposed to water rather than humidity, ensure the appliance is level and not allowing water to pool on or around the pad surface.
What if it doesn't make enough difference to the vibration?
All products carry a 30-day money-back guarantee. If the pad alone does not resolve the problem, the most common cause is flanking — vibration transmitting through the appliance casing into the wall it rests against, or through pipework and fixings connected to the appliance. Ensuring the appliance does not make direct contact with surrounding walls or cabinetry eliminates the most common flanking path. Contact us if you are unsure and we will advise.
