Maximum Impact Noise Reduction for Concrete Floors (Carpet Finish)

Our Pro Concrete Floor Soundproofing System – Carpet is our highest performance concrete floor build-up for customers who want maximum impact noise reduction — such as footfall and vibration — with a stronger improvement in airborne noise compared to thinner systems. This Pro-tier build-up uses 10kg MLV combined with a thick 10mm Terrac Rubber layer, a heavy-duty 22mm STS TG4 overlay board, and Silent Floor Ultra Underlay under the carpet finish.

To make things easier, our online calculator works out the quantities required for your project, with an additional 5% already allowed for waste.

Designed for Concrete Floors with a Carpet Finish

Concrete floors are typically strong for airborne sound, but impact noise can still travel efficiently through the structure. This Pro system is designed to deliver the best impact noise reduction we offer for concrete floors, using thicker isolation layers and a heavier overlay board than our Essential tier.

The build-up consists of:

  • 1 layer of 10kg MLV (Soundproofing Mat)
  • 10mm Terrac Rubber Underlayment
  • 22mm STS TG4 Acoustic Floorboard
  • Silent Floor Ultra Acoustic Underlay
  • Everbuild AC95 Acoustic Sealant
  • Jointing Tape
  • Contact Adhesive

The finished build-up is approximately 48mm overall, excluding the carpet finish.

Important Supply Information

All components required for this system are supplied by us as part of the calculator output. The only items you need to source separately are suitable fixings for your floor type and the carpet finish itself.

How the System Works

This system combines mass and high-level impact isolation across multiple layers:

  • 10kg MLV adds dense mass to help reduce airborne sound transmission through the floor structure
  • 10mm Terrac Rubber Underlayment provides maximum impact isolation within this product family, absorbing footfall and vibration energy before it enters the structure
  • 22mm STS TG4 Acoustic Floorboard creates a heavy, stiff overlay deck that improves both impact and airborne performance and provides a stable substrate for the carpet finish
  • Silent Floor Ultra Acoustic Underlay provides additional impact reduction and comfort directly under the carpet, improving the overall acoustic performance of the finished floor
  • AC95 Acoustic Sealant and Jointing Tape reduce sound leakage through perimeter gaps and board joints

What We Supply

The system calculator works out the estimated quantities required for all soundproofing materials we supply, including:

  • 10kg MLV (Soundproofing Mat)
  • 10mm Terrac Rubber Underlayment
  • 22mm STS TG4 Acoustic Floorboards
  • STS Slow Set PU Adhesive
  • Silent Floor Ultra Acoustic Underlay
  • High Strength Contact Adhesive
  • AC95 Acoustic Sealant
  • PVC Jointing Tape

Fixings and carpet are not included — source these to suit your floor type. We also include an additional 5% allowance for waste in the calculated quantities.

Key Benefits

  • Maximum impact noise reduction for concrete floors — 10mm Terrac Rubber Underlayment absorbs footfall and vibration energy before it enters the floor structure, delivering the highest impact isolation within this product family
  • High mass build-up for airborne noise — 10kg/m² MLV combined with a 22mm STS TG4 overlay board adds significant surface mass, improving airborne sound reduction compared to thinner concrete floor systems
  • Heavy-duty 22mm STS TG4 overlay — creates a stiff, stable substrate over the soundproofing layers, providing a solid base for the carpet finish while contributing to overall acoustic performance
  • Silent Floor Ultra Acoustic Underlay — provides additional impact reduction and comfort directly under the carpet, improving the overall acoustic performance of the finished floor
  • Suitable for flats, apartments, and high footfall areas — designed for concrete floor construction above occupied spaces where impact noise from footfall is the primary complaint
  • Complete system supply — all components are included in the calculator output except fixings and carpet, so you can order everything needed for your floor soundproofing project in one place
  • Built-in 5% waste allowance — calculator quantities include a 5% overage to account for cuts and waste, reducing the risk of under-ordering on site
  • Check floor height clearances before ordering — this system adds approximately 48mm excluding carpet; verify door and threshold clearances are sufficient before committing to the Pro build-up

Important Notes

  • This system is designed for concrete floors intended to be finished with carpet
  • Sealant quantities are an approximation only and should be treated as a guide
  • The calculator is provided as a guide only, and final quantities should always be checked before ordering
  • Always check floor height/threshold clearances before ordering (this system adds approx. 48mm)
  • If doors/thresholds are tight, check clearances before committing to the Pro build-up
