SoundControl Wall Mounted Panels — 1" Foam Depth | NRC 0.75 | Class C
The 1" SoundControl wall-mounted panels use a 25mm open-cell acoustic foam core achieving NRC 0.75 (Sound Absorption Class C), with strong absorption from 500Hz upward: 0.65 at 500Hz, 0.94 at 1000Hz, 1.13 at 2000Hz, and 0.99 at 4000Hz. Low-frequency absorption is more limited (0.30 at 250Hz). The 1" panel is the appropriate specification for offices, meeting rooms, and educational environments where speech-frequency reverberation control is the primary requirement and low-mid frequency absorption is not critical. Available in three sizes: 2ft × 2ft (610 × 610mm), 2ft × 3ft (610 × 915mm), and 2ft × 4ft (610 × 1220mm).
SoundControl Wall Mounted Panels — 2" Foam Depth | NRC 1.00 | Class A
The 2" SoundControl wall-mounted panels use a 50mm open-cell acoustic foam core achieving NRC 1.00 (Sound Absorption Class A) — the highest absorption class — with strong broadband performance: 0.61 at 250Hz, 1.03 at 500Hz, 1.16 at 1000Hz, 1.11 at 2000Hz, and 1.10 at 4000Hz. The significantly improved low-frequency performance at 250Hz (0.61 vs 0.30 for the 1" panel) makes the 2" panel the appropriate specification where broadband reverberation control — including low-mid frequencies — is required. Available in three sizes: 2ft × 2ft, 2ft × 3ft, and 2ft × 4ft.
Designer Range Wall Mounted Panels — NRC 0.75 | Class C
The Designer Range wall-mounted panels use the same 25mm foam core and open-weave polyester cloth construction as the SoundControl range, achieving NRC 0.75 (Sound Absorption Class C), but in shaped and circular profiles that create distinctive wall installations. The range includes the Cloud9 circular panels (60cm, 80cm, and 100cm diameter), the Barracuda scale-profile panel (800 × 770mm), the Seagull bird-silhouette panel (480 × 480mm), and the Kubrick geometric panel (690 × 1200mm). Designer Range panels are suited to environments where acoustic treatment is also expected to contribute to the interior design of the space.
Selecting the Right Panel
For most office and educational applications where speech intelligibility is the primary concern, the 1" SoundControl panel (NRC 0.75, Class C) provides effective mid and high frequency absorption at a lower cost per panel. Where the space has significant low-mid frequency reverberation — common in larger rooms with hard surfaces, high ceilings, or significant low-frequency noise sources — the 2" SoundControl panel (NRC 1.00, Class A) is the appropriate specification. For environments where the visual impact of the acoustic installation is as important as the acoustic performance, the Designer Range provides the same 25mm foam core performance in a range of shaped and circular profiles.
Construction and Compliance
All wall-mounted panels use a Class '0' fire-rated open-cell acoustic foam core (BS 476 Parts 6 and 7; C s1, d0 to EN 13501-1), mounted on a rigid MDF or backing board substrate and wrapped in a 100% recycled open-weave polyester cloth. The open-weave fabric maintains full acoustic transparency across all 31 colour options. Mirror plate fixings are supplied with each panel. All panels are handmade to order in the Advanced Acoustics UK facility with a 2–3 week lead time.
