SilentFence Acoustic Fencing Panel | 25–34dB Noise Reduction | 1828mm × 1800mm

SilentFence is a natural timber acoustic fencing panel independently tested to BS EN ISO 10140-2:2010 in accordance with BS EN 1793-2 and BS EN ISO 717-1, achieving between 25dB and 34dB of airborne sound reduction. Unlike standard decorative fencing, SilentFence is engineered specifically to interrupt the path of airborne noise — traffic, machinery, and neighbour noise — before it reaches your outdoor space.

Each panel is constructed from smooth-planed, pressure-treated natural timber with a 15-year anti-rot guarantee. At 45mm thick, the interlocking tongue-and-groove boards are mounted in a rebated frame that eliminates face gaps — the primary failure point of standard fence panels when used for noise control. The result is a continuous, gap-free barrier that reflects sound rather than allowing it to pass through.

Panels can be installed with boards running vertically or horizontally, and a matching gate is available to maintain acoustic continuity across the full fence run. Minimum order of 3 panels. • Matching gate available. Maintain acoustic continuity across the full fence run with a matching SilentFence gate.

Installation

For optimum noise reduction, the panels must be mounted to fence posts with no gaps between the panel edge and the post. Use slotted fence posts (timber or concrete) or screw the panel directly to the post. Do not use U-brackets — these leave a gap at the post junction that significantly reduces acoustic performance. Mount panels on gravel boards to bring the total fence height above 2 metres for maximum noise reduction. Ensure there are no gaps at the base of the panel run.
