Norsound NOR510 Retro Fit Meeting Stile Acoustic Door Seal | Aluminium | 2100mm | 22.5 × 17.5mm

The NOR510 is a screw-fixed meeting stile seal designed for retrofit installation at the meeting point of double door leaves to provide acoustic sealing and draught exclusion at the central gap between the two doors. On a double door set without a fixed centre post, the meeting stile bridges the gap between the two door leaves when both are closed, creating a continuous seal at the point where the doors meet. The seal is fixed to the face of one door leaf and the PVC gasket compresses against the face of the opposing leaf on closing, sealing the gap between the two leaves. The housing is manufactured from T6060 aluminium and the gasket from PVC, providing a durable, low-maintenance seal at the most acoustically vulnerable point of a double doorset.

The NOR510 housing profile is 22.5 × 17.5mm, with a maximum gap coverage of 3–4mm at the meeting point. Supplied as a single length of 2100mm to cover standard double door leaf heights. Screw-fixed to the door face. Acoustically tested in accordance with BS EN ISO 10140-2. Supplied in satin silver with a black PVC gasket.

Applications

• Double door meeting stile sealing — fix to the face of one door leaf at the meeting stile position, with the PVC gasket oriented to compress against the face of the opposing leaf when both doors are closed. The NOR510 seals the central gap between the two leaves, which is the primary acoustic weak point in a double doorset — without a meeting stile seal, the gap between the leaves provides a direct flanking path for airborne sound regardless of the performance of the perimeter seals. The 3–4mm maximum gap coverage is appropriate for standard double door leaf tolerances.
• Retrofit upgrade to existing double doorsets — the NOR510 is screw-fixed to the door face and does not require modification to the door frame or the opposing leaf, making it suitable for retrofit installation on existing double doorsets. The 2100mm length covers standard door leaf heights and can be cut to length on site if required.
• Acoustic compliance on double doorsets — when used in conjunction with compatible head, jamb, and bottom seals on both leaves, the NOR510 completes the acoustic barrier around the full perimeter of a double doorset, including the meeting stile gap that perimeter seals alone cannot address.

Installation

Measure the door leaf height and confirm the 2100mm length is appropriate. Cut to length on site if required.

Position the NOR510 on the face of the active door leaf at the meeting stile edge, with the PVC gasket oriented to face the opposing leaf. The gasket should be positioned so that it compresses against the face of the opposing leaf when both doors are in the closed position. Mark and drill fixing holes. Screw-fix the housing to the door face at regular intervals along the full length of the seal.

Close both door leaves and check that the PVC gasket compresses evenly against the opposing leaf face along the full length of the seal. The compression should be consistent — 3–4mm gap coverage — without the seal preventing either leaf from closing fully or engaging the latch. Adjust the fixing position if required.

Install compatible head, jamb, and bottom seals on both door leaves to complete the acoustic barrier around the full perimeter of the double doorset.
