Higher Performance Floor Soundproofing for Carpeted Timber Floors

Our Plus Timber Floor Soundproofing System – Carpet is designed for improving sound insulation through timber floors where you’re dealing with more noticeable noise and want a higher performance upgrade. Using two layers of 10kg MLV combined with Silent Floor Ultra Underlay, this system helps reduce both airborne noise and impact noise from footfall, while remaining practical to install.

To make things easier, our online calculator does all the hard work for you by working out the quantities required for your project, with an additional 5% already allowed for waste, helping ensure you have everything needed to complete the installation.

Designed for Louder Noise Through Timber Floors

Our Plus Timber Floor Soundproofing System – Carpet is a step up from our Essential tier and is intended for situations where you’re dealing with louder airborne noise and/or more noticeable impact noise through a timber floor. The build-up consists of:

The finished build-up is approximately 21mm overall.

Important Supply Information

All components required for this system are supplied by us as part of the calculator output. You do not need to source additional system materials separately.

How the System Works

This system improves floor sound insulation by combining high mass and impact isolation:

  • The two layers of 10kg MLV add significantly more mass than standard matting, helping reduce louder airborne noise
  • Silent Floor Ultra Underlay helps reduce impact noise from footfall and improves overall acoustic comfort under carpet
  • AC95 Acoustic Sealant helps close perimeter gaps and weak points
  • Jointing Tape helps seal joints and improve airtightness

What We Supply

The system calculator works out the estimated quantities required for the soundproofing materials we supply, including:

  • Rolls of 10kg MLV (Soundproofing Mat)
  • Silent Floor Ultra Underlay
  • Contact Adhesive
  • AC95 Acoustic Sealant
  • Jointing Tape

We also include an additional 5% allowance for waste in the calculated quantities.
