Our Pro Concrete Floor Soundproofing System – Loose Lay LVT & Laminate is our highest performance concrete floor build-up for customers who want maximum impact noise reduction — such as footfall and vibration — with a stronger improvement in airborne noise compared to thinner systems. This Pro-tier build-up uses 10kg MLV combined with a thick 10mm Terrac Rubber layer, a heavy-duty 22mm STS TG4 overlay board, and a 3mm Terrac top layer under the finished floor.

To make things easier, our online calculator works out the quantities required for your project, with an additional 5% already allowed for waste.

Designed for Concrete Floors with a Loose Lay LVT & Laminate Finish

Concrete floors are typically strong for airborne sound, but impact noise can still travel efficiently through the structure. This Pro system is designed to deliver the best impact noise reduction we offer for concrete floors, using thicker isolation layers and a heavier overlay board than our Essential tier.

The build-up consists of:

  • 1 layer of 10kg MLV (Soundproofing Mat)
  • 10mm Terrac Rubber Underlayment
  • 22mm STS TG4 Acoustic Floorboard
  • 3mm Terrac Rubber Underlay (top layer)
  • Everbuild AC95 Acoustic Sealant
  • Jointing Tape
  • Contact Adhesive

The finished build-up is approximately 40mm overall.

How the System Works

This system combines mass and high-level impact isolation across multiple layers:

  • 10kg MLV adds dense mass to help reduce airborne sound transmission through the floor structure
  • 10mm Terrac Rubber Underlayment provides maximum impact isolation within this product family, absorbing footfall and vibration energy before it enters the structure
  • 22mm STS TG4 Acoustic Floorboard creates a heavy, stiff overlay deck that improves both impact and airborne performance and provides a stable substrate for the finished floor
  • 3mm Terrac Rubber Underlay improves impact reduction and comfort directly under the loose lay LVT or laminate finish
  • AC95 Acoustic Sealant and Jointing Tape reduce sound leakage through perimeter gaps and board joints

Installation Summary
