Advanced Acoustics 3ft Wave Bass Trap 12" x 12"

The Advanced Acoustics Wave Corner Bass Trap 3ft is a 915mm open-cell polyurethane acoustic foam bass trap in a precision CNC-cut wave profile, measuring 305mm × 305mm × 915mm (12" × 12" × 36"). The bass trap is designed for corner installation — vertical orientation in wall-wall corners and horizontal orientation in wall-ceiling corners — where low-frequency energy accumulates. The 3ft length is a modular unit that can be installed singly or stacked to build the required corner coverage.

Equivalent Absorption Area per object: 0.1 at 50Hz, 0.3 at 63Hz, 0.3 at 80Hz, 0.7 at 100Hz, 0.7 at 125Hz, and 0.9 at 160Hz. The additional length over the 2ft version delivers stronger low-frequency absorption at all measured frequencies — 0.9 at 160Hz versus 0.6 for the 2ft, 0.7 at 125Hz versus 0.4. The wave profile matches the Mini Wave 12" tile family, allowing the bass trap to be installed alongside Mini Wave wall tiles for a coordinated acoustic treatment with a consistent visual finish across walls and corners. Available in Mid Grey and Dark Grey. Manufactured in the UK.

Applications

Professional recording studios and control rooms — corner low-frequency control.
The Wave Corner Bass Trap 3ft addresses the low-frequency standing waves and bass build-up that wall and ceiling tiles do not effectively control. Install vertically in the wall-wall corners and horizontally in the wall-ceiling corners — the locations where low-frequency energy is greatest. The 3ft length is a modular unit: use a single trap where targeted treatment is required, or stack multiple traps to build the full corner coverage needed for the room. The 915mm length covers more of the corner per piece than the 2ft version, reducing the number of stacked modules required for a given corner height. Pair with Mini Wave wall tiles for a coordinated treatment package. Use the Coverage Calculator to determine the number of bass traps required.

Rehearsal rooms and live rooms — low-frequency control.
Rehearsal and live rooms with significant low-frequency energy from bass instruments and drums benefit from the 3ft trap's stronger low-frequency absorption. The 0.9 at 160Hz and 0.7 at 125Hz address the low-frequency build-up that contributes to muddiness in musical performance, controlling the low-end energy that wall tiles leave unaddressed.

Coordinated treatment with Wave family tiles.
The wave profile of the bass trap matches the Mini Wave 12" tile family, allowing the bass trap to be installed as part of a coordinated acoustic treatment package with a consistent visual finish across walls and corners. The matching profile produces a unified aesthetic across the full installation.

Product Benefits

Corner low-frequency control — Equivalent Absorption Area 0.9 at 160Hz.
The Wave Corner Bass Trap 3ft provides targeted absorption at the low frequencies that wall and ceiling tiles do not effectively address. Equivalent Absorption Area per object: 0.1 at 50Hz, 0.3 at 63Hz, 0.3 at 80Hz, 0.7 at 100Hz, 0.7 at 125Hz, and 0.9 at 160Hz. The additional length over the 2ft version delivers stronger absorption at all measured frequencies — 0.9 at 160Hz versus 0.6 for the 2ft, 0.7 at 125Hz versus 0.4. The 3ft is the appropriate specification where stronger low-frequency absorption is required or where fewer stacked modules are preferred for a given corner height.

Wave profile — matching tile family aesthetic.
The CNC-cut wave profile matches the Mini Wave tile family, producing a consistent visual finish when the bass trap is installed alongside Mini Wave wall tiles. The matching profile allows walls and corners to be treated as a coordinated acoustic and visual package.

Specification and compliance.
30kg/m³ foam density. Crib 5 and Schedule 1, Part 1 of the Furnishings and Furniture (Fire)(Safety) Regulations 1988 (amended 1989). Bass trap size 305mm × 305mm × 915mm (12" × 12" × 36"). 1.6kg per trap. Mid Grey and Dark Grey. Manufactured in the UK and shipped uncompressed from stock.

Installation

Install the Wave Corner Bass Trap 3ft in the room corners — vertical orientation in the wall-wall corners and horizontal orientation in the wall-ceiling corners — where low-frequency energy accumulates. The 3ft length can be installed singly or stacked to build the required corner coverage. Fix using Advanced Acoustics Contact Adhesive applied to both the rear face of the trap and the corner surface. Allow the adhesive to become touch-dry before bringing the surfaces together — contact adhesive bonds on contact, so position the trap carefully before pressing it into the corner. Ensure adequate ventilation throughout installation — the adhesive is solvent-based.

Notes: For Control Rooms it is vital that the wall that has the control desk placed on it is entered as the Room Width even if this is the longest wall. Available Corners refers to the amount of wall to wall corners that are available for bass traps. There must be at least 350mm of free space on either wall for it to qualify.
Installing our Corner Foam Bass Traps is very simple. The first step to take is to work out your correct placement and preferred layout of bass traps. Do a sketch on paper first to make sure that the layout looks right and you have enough bass traps and space for your planned design.

Once the acoustic foam bass traps are mounted they are hard to remove so it is important to get the layout right before you begin. Once you have a sketch of the layout you plan you can then mark up the wall with the layout. You can either use pencil, masking tape or lasers to layout the design.

When mounting the bass traps in the corners apply Advanced Acoustics Contact Adhesive to both the back of the bass trap and the mounting surface. There is no need to heavily cover the bass trap or wall with adhesive, a band of adhesive around the perimeter of the bass trap along with 50% - 75% coverage of the rest of the bass trap will be fine. Use the same equivalent amount on the wall. Avoid overspray on the bass traps and the corners so that adhesive can’t be seen when they are in place. Masking Tape on the wall will help with this. If you do get webbing overspray on the bass trap, don’t touch it, allow it to dry, in most cases you will be able to peel the adhesive off.

The adhesive we supply is solvent based so we recommend that you keep all doors of the room and any windows open whilst completing the installation.
