Elevate Your Studio's Sound with the Multi Wave Acoustic Studio Foam Tile Pack!
The Advanced Acoustics MULTI Wave 30" is a 100mm open-cell polyurethane acoustic foam tile in a precision CNC-cut multi-direction wave profile, measuring 762mm × 762mm (30" × 30"). The tile achieves NRC 1.00 (Sound Absorption Class A), providing high-performance broadband absorption with strong low-frequency performance. Each pack contains 6 tiles, covering 3.48m² (37.5sqft) of wall or ceiling surface.
Absorption: 0.74 at 250Hz, 1.09 at 500Hz, 1.00 at 1kHz, 1.08 at 2kHz, and 1.09 at 4kHz. The multi-direction wave profile varies the surface geometry across multiple axes, distributing the wave pattern across the tile face rather than in a single direction. The 100mm peak depth delivers strong low-frequency absorption — 0.74 at 250Hz — making the MULTI Wave effective across the full frequency range. Available in Mid Grey and Dark Grey. Manufactured in the UK.
Applications
Professional recording studios and control rooms — Class A broadband treatment.
The MULTI Wave at NRC 1.00 (Class A) provides comprehensive broadband absorption across the full mid and high frequency range, with the 0.74 at 250Hz delivering strong low-frequency performance. The 30" × 30" format covers significant wall area per tile, making it efficient for treating the larger wall surfaces of professional studio and control room environments. Install on primary reflection points and extend coverage as required. Use the Coverage Calculator to determine the number of packs required.
Rehearsal rooms and live rooms — low-frequency control.
The 100mm peak depth delivers strong low-frequency absorption that addresses the low-mid frequency energy contributing to muddiness in musical performance. The multi-direction wave profile and 3.48m² coverage per pack suit the larger wall areas typical of rehearsal and live room environments.
Statement wall installations — multi-direction surface geometry.
The multi-direction wave profile varies the surface geometry across multiple axes, producing a more complex three-dimensional wall surface than a single-direction wave. The MULTI Wave can be combined with other 30" Studio Foam Tiles for mixed-format wall treatments where a varied surface texture is preferred.
Product Benefits
NRC 1.00 / Sound Absorption Class A — strong broadband absorption with Class A low-frequency performance.
The 100mm foam core achieves NRC 1.00 (Class A), with absorption of 0.74 at 250Hz, 1.09 at 500Hz, 1.00 at 1000Hz, 1.08 at 2000Hz, and 1.09 at 4000Hz. The 0.74 at 250Hz delivers strong low-frequency absorption, making the MULTI Wave effective across the full frequency range including the low-mid frequencies.
Multi-direction wave profile — varied three-dimensional surface.
The CNC-cut multi-direction wave profile varies the surface geometry across multiple axes rather than running in a single direction. The result is a more complex three-dimensional wall surface than a single-direction wave profile, suited to installations where a varied surface texture is preferred. Each tile is CNC cut to consistent dimensions for accurate alignment across tile joints.
Specification and compliance.
30kg/m³ foam density. Crib 5 and Schedule 1, Part 1 of the Furnishings and Furniture (Fire)(Safety) Regulations 1988 (amended 1989). Tile size 762mm × 762mm × 100mm peak (30" × 30" × 4"). 6 tiles per pack, 3.48m² (37.5sqft) coverage. Mid Grey and Dark Grey. Manufactured in the UK and shipped uncompressed from stock.
Installation
Plan the tile layout before beginning installation. Sketch the intended pattern on paper and mark the layout on the wall or ceiling surface using pencil, masking tape, or a laser level. Distribute tiles evenly across the treatment area for consistent absorption coverage across the room.
Apply Advanced Acoustics Contact Adhesive to both the back of the tile and the mounting surface. Apply a band of adhesive around the perimeter of the tile and 50–75% coverage of the remaining surface area; repeat the equivalent coverage on the wall. Allow the adhesive to become touch-dry before bringing the surfaces together — contact adhesive bonds on contact, so position the tile carefully before pressing it to the wall. Avoid overspray onto the tile face or surrounding wall surface; use masking tape on the wall to protect adjacent areas. If adhesive webbing contacts the tile face, allow it to dry fully before attempting to remove it — in most cases it can be peeled away cleanly once dry. The adhesive is solvent-based. Ensure adequate ventilation throughout the installation — keep doors and windows open.
For a temporary or demountable installation, mount tiles onto 6mm MDF or plywood sheet to create panels, then hang the panels using D-rings and picture hooks. For ceiling-mounted panels, use four mirror plates per panel. This approach allows panels to be removed and repositioned without damage to the wall or ceiling surface.
